Creamy Prawn Pasta

Get some pasta, some prawns, a twist of lemon and you’re sure to have a delicious lunch (or dinner). This recipe is from the tasty website of Buzzfeed. If I could give you an advice, DO buy fresh prawns from a fishmongers because in a hurry I bought frozen ones but once you heat your leftovers it just tastes like plastic.

Ingredients:
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 1 tbsp rosemary
  • 300g prawns, shelled
  • 3 tbsp plain flour
  • 750ml lukewarm milk
  • 1/2 onion, minced
  • 1 cup of fresh parsley
  • 1/2 cup of spring onions
  • salt and pepper
  • 300g pasta
  • 1 tbsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 lime juice
  1. In a big pan melt the butter and add thyme and rosemary.
  2. Add your prawns and let it cook for 3 minutes. Take them out of the pan and put them aside in a bowl.
  3. Incorporate the flour and stir it with a whisk. Add your lukewarm milk a little at a time while you are still whisking.
  4. Add your minced onion, salt, pepper and ground nutmeg. Let it cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.
  5. Add your fresh parsley and your chopped spring onions. Mix it all with a hand mixer.
  6. Let it cook until the sauce is starting to boil, then take it off the hob. Add your lime juice and pout your prawns back in the pan.
  7. Add your pasta (cooked and drained) and serve it straight away.
