White Wine Cake

I hope you had a fabulous time with your family and friends during the festivities and that 2017 will be a good year for all of us. I wish you health and happiness but also a big appetite because I have so much recipes to share with you. 🙂
Now if you still have champagne or wine from the holidays in your fridge here is a funny way to consume it. This may surprise you but YES white wine cake is a thing! It is one of my mum’s friend who gave us the recipe and I have to admit this cake is original and good. Don’t worry if you have champagne it works too.

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups self raising flour
  • 1 cup (Riesling) white wine
  • 1 cup sunflower oil
  1. Separate the whites and yolks of the eggs.
  2. Mix the yolks, sugar, vanilla extract, flour, wine and the oil until you get an even mixture.
  3. Beat the whites and add them to the mixture little by little by strirring gently.
  4. Greased a tin and pour the mixture in.
  5. Let it cook (180°C) for 30-40 minutes.
