BBQ Cheesy Pasta

This recipe started with a mouth watering picture on Twitter. Yes folks! Gluttony is a naughty vice and following FoodPorns on social media won’t help you cure your sin.  So as I was saying I saw a dish sent from heaven and it inspired me for a new recipe to try. Because I’m a clever girl 😉 I googgled “BBQ Cheesy Pasta” just like the tweet was untitled and (MIRACLE!!) it was the first recipe to come out with the exact same picture. The recipe is from chelseamessyapron but as you may know me I never follow people’s recipes, I always give it a twist. Indeed one of the problem I had is we don’t have mac and cheese packs in France. You can find them but in a few shops in Paris or other big cities. So here is the modified recipe I cooked:
400g extra lean ground beef
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1 red pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons BBQ sauce
250g Macaroni
200g grated cheddar cheese
Optional: a few green onions, salt and pepper

  1.  In a large skillet, brown the ground beef at medium heat with the finely chopped onion, garlic, and chopped red pepper until completely cooked through. Add in 1 tablespoon of BBQ sauce.
  2. Cook your pasta in boiling water as indicated in its package. Once cooked, drain and mix it with the mince beef.
  3. Stir everything together well at low heat. Add the second BBQ sauce and give it a good stir.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted. If desired, garnish with some green onions.
All you have to do now is to appreciated this Texan flavour in your mouth. 🙂
